Joining Instructions for the Elluminate ‘admin’ learning event
When does it start?
The learning event starts at 1300hrs and will finish at 1630hrs
Who’s delivering it?
The event will be facilitated by Val Brooks, you can hear a little more from Val by listening to the audio player below.
Will I get fed?
As this event commences over lunchtime a cold buffet lunch will be provided. Hot and cold drinks will be available throughout the afternoon.
Where do I need to be?
The event will take place in the ICT Suite in B202 .
What will we be covering during the event?
Val will be providing us with a technical overview of the tool which will include the necessary ‘pre-event’ preparation as well as the functionality of the tools once ‘in session’. A second session with Val (possibly via Elluminate) will take place once we have received our training from Onlignment.
For those of you who want to find out a little more about Elluminate I have included a Slideshare below. Please note that this quite an old Slideshare so it may not be a 100% accurate representation of the version that we will be using, but at least it will give you an idea…
Do I need to bring anything?
Please bring the Moderators Guide for Elluminate Live Version 10, that you will have been provided with and your Logitech wireless headphones (don’t forget the USB receiver!)
Do I need to do anything in advance of the event?
Prior to the event there are 3 small pieces of preparatory work to carry out…
- You should view this page from the Elluminate website.
- Read Section 1 of the Live Online Learning Facilitators guide.
- If you are on Twitter, then follow Elluminate and #virtualclassroom
If you facilitate any face-to-face learning events then why not consider whether your events could benefit from this type of Joining Instruction.
Maybe you could prick their interest in your subject by using a video as an intro…?
… perhaps you could poll delegates before they arrive at your event…?
… maybe a podcast could act as some pre-event preparation..?
If you would like to trial this approach then please contact me and we can start looking into it
See you on the 03rd February 2011
